How to make simple syrup for cocktails
Simple Syrup is a great way to sweeten drinks without the hassle of trying to dissolve sugar in a cocktail. It is also simple to make.
Ingredients needed:
- 2 parts sugar
- 1 part water
Directions:
- Combine sugar and water in a large pot
- Bring to a boil while stirring frequently
- Remove at once from the heat (you don’t want this to boil over!)
- Cool to room temperature
You can use the simple syrup immediately for mojitos. Store the unused portion in an air tight container in the refrigerator for mojitos anytime. For a lighter version, combine equal parts sugar and water.
